The challenge

A movement can look straightforward when watched from start to finish. Pausing it reveals moments that deserve a closer look: a position, a transition, or a change between two frames. Examining the sequence in parts lets the reviewer focus on the instant that matters.

In biomechanical evaluation, the video tool needs to support that way of working. A reviewer may consider the overall movement and return to a specific moment within it. The source material stays the same; what changes is the way it is examined.

Kinien is built around that task. The project brings 2D video and frame-by-frame review into a platform dedicated to biomechanical evaluation.

03 / What we built

What we built

We built a video interface for examining movement. The 2D video provides the full sequence, while frame-by-frame review focuses attention on the moments that make it up.

The evaluator can direct attention to a particular instant within the same source material. That task shapes the development: moving from a continuous sequence to the examination of its individual frames.

Kinien brings the context of the movement together with the detail of each moment. The software has a specific purpose within evaluation work: an interface adapted to visual review of a sequence.
